Elected officials, community members, and the I.S. 109Q Parent-Teachers Association gathered on Saturday, May 7th at 10am to rally in protest the co-location of New Visions High School at I.S.109 located at 213-10 92nd Ave, Queens Village, NY 11428. The Department of Education proposed a New Vision charter high school will open in September with at least 108 freshmen students. The student body is expected to grow up to at least 400 students at the start of the fourth year.

The rally served as the last chance for community members to voice their concerns before the Panel for Education Policy meeting on May 18th at 6pm located at 14-30 Broadway, LIC, NY 11106.

I.S. 109’s Parent Teacher Association procured guaranteed transportation to the Panel for Education Policy on May 18th.
